I hate to love Anthropologie. It used to be that cute little store that no one knew about and that you kinda felt spoke to you, special. And then it became a lifestyle design store, where it wasn’t just for you anymore, where it was about $36 candles and the apparel started to get less wearable and more about a certain ideal. Or was that just fashion in general I was talking about…? Oops!
I really, really like their housewares and accessories still. Like, adore them.
When I popped in today I found two bags that were super fun for the summer – totes for the beach kinda bags.
Bags don’t convey well in pictures. You can’t get a sense of the size, of the construction. Both these summer tote bags are much cuter than in their pictures.
Pom Burst Tote from Anthropologie
The Pom Bust Tote comes in blue and pink, I preferred the pink. It’s $68. Typically overpriced, but on the low end of overpriced for Anthropologie. This is a great bag to throw in some magazines, a few bottles of water and sunscreen and head to the beach with. It’s roomy without being burdensome and the raffia will stand up to the sand. Staggered Chevrons Tote from Anthropologie
The Staggered Chevrons Tote from Anthropologie looks really hideous as pictured, but shines in person. I like this one the best of the two.
It’s $98 and made of coated canvas. This bag would be so great as a more stylish diaper bag, or toddler snacks-and-toys bag. It’ll do just as well as your library book carry-all, lunch tote, farmer’s market bag or beach tote. It’s bright and summery and with 3 pockets inside, there’s a spot for everything. Find it here.
